Syracuse University continues to reaffirm its commitment to veterans, a priority highlighted in Chancellor Kent Syverud’s 2014 Inauguration Speech, where he emphasized the goal of becoming “the best place for veterans.” The Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) advances this mission in part through the IVMF Digital Library.

 

The Syracuse University Research Collection preserves and shares research that supports veterans and military families, offering a centralized, searchable repository of resources from IVMF events, campus initiatives, and other open-access work at Syracuse University. The SU Research Collection Topics were developed from existing research related to veterans, military‑connected individuals, and other key stakeholders held in SURFACE, Syracuse University's Institutional Repository. SURFACE provides long-term preservation to open‑access research and scholarly content created at Syracuse University.

The Voices of Service Symposium is an annual event hosted by the D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) and the Office of Academic Affairs. This event is designed to spotlight innovative work related to veteran and military-connected populations being conducted at and in partnership with Syracuse University.
